RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

To understand the signaling and differentiation of placental stem cells to augment and facilitate the repair of damaged skin, i.e., both traumatic injury and age-related photo injured skin changes.

Develop novel solutions to reduce undesirable tissue adhesion to Med-Por subcutaneous tissue augmentation material thus enabling smaller pockets for insertion with reduced incidence of implant complications.

Utilizing microdermabrasion technology as a novel, needle-free, intraepidermal vaccine delivery systems appropriate for mass vaccination of third world populations. Specifically, as it applies to newly developed HIV vaccines whose antigens are preferentially presented to the immune system via the Langerhans cells of the skin.
