Facial Paralysis Reconstruction

These procedures are intended to improve a patient’s facial symmetry, eyelid function, nasal breathing, chewing and speaking, all of which may be affected by facial nerve damage, either from tumor removal, congenital deformity or trauma. The procedures Dr. Yellin performs include brow lifts, gold and platinum upper eyelid weights, lower eyelid tightening procedures, cartilage grafts to the lower eyelid, Gore-Tex facial slings and reverse facelifts. All of these procedures provide permanent functional and aesthetic facial improvement, with eyelid correction being dynamic and lower facial correction being static. When appropriate nerve grafts may also be performed to provide more dynamic lower facial reanimation.
